The CAD Technician position should have a well-rounded understanding of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
As such, they will provide support to all applicable drafting endeavors to include maintaining and/or creating As-Built Architectural drawings using AutoCAD and associated laser measuring equipment.
The CAD Technician may assist in preparing, revising, creating, and assuring quality standards across project plans/drawings.
The candidate will need to be able to be on-site at Fort Benning and occasionally travel for to conduct CAD surveys as dictated by project scope/requirements.
The CAD Technician should demonstrate the ability to work under minimal supervision and provide superior customer service to the client.
The CAD Technician will be part of a team and report to their immediate Supervisor or Program Manager.
The candidate must have a strong work ethic and show initiative to learn items related to any given task.
Role and Responsibilities Ability and understanding to create and/or modify As-Built drawings.
Ability and understanding to plot drawings.
Ability to adapt to additional task.
Ability to coordinate with colleagues to ensure drawing discrepancies are resolved (i.
e.
, client requested revisions).
Ability to stand for long durations of time when doing field surveys.
Ability to travel as needed.
Ability to work alongside government clients, engineers, architects, and other professionals in producing plans and drawings.
Assist in any revisions to drawing files and documentation as the design changes.
Basic understanding of Architectural standards and principles.
Ensure drawing procedures are efficient and assist in improving processes within the organization.
Must follow and practice drawing procedures outlined by the client.
Prepare drawings for project plans, documents, reports, and exhibits.
Review data from engineers, Facility managers, technicians, and field employees to ensure that they conform to client standards.
Work independently based on instructions, directions, priorities, or requests received from Supervisor and/or Sr.
Program staff.
Qualifications and Education Requirements Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized.
Ability to take direction and act independently.
Associates degree in Drafting Technology or Equivalent work experience Customer focused, results-oriented professional and strong team player.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (2017 or newer version).
Self-starter that demonstrates initiative.
Strong communications and organization skills.
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, expert knowledge of AutoCAD).
Strong understanding of Architectural design fundamentals and practices.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills 3
years AutoCAD experience.
Experience with AutoCAD Scripts/LISP preferred, but not required.
Knowledge of converting AutoCAD drawings to other formats.
Experience with Piping drawings Additional Notes This position is subject to work on-site at a government installation, reside at the corporate office, or remote working (dependent upon client needs).
The candidate must be willing to undergo and successfully pass a background investigation.
Travel required depending on client needs.
