Immigrations and Customs Enforcement- Strategic Development Unit (SDU).
These units are responsible for developing and delivering post-basic, advanced, specialized, and use of force related training on-site at Fort Moore or the field.
The training provided by these units certifies instructors for firearms, defensive tactics, special response team leaders, and partners in the field.
The Ammo Handler will ensure that ammunition is handled with utmost care, following strict safety standards to protect personnel and maintain the integrity of the ammunition supply chain.
DUTIES &
Responsibilities:
Inspect and examine ammunition to ensure it meets quality standards and is free from defects or damage that could compromise its performance.
Safely store and organize ammunition in designated areas, following proper storage guidelines and safety protocols to prevent accidents or mishandling.
Prepare items for shipment to other installations.
Handle the loading and unloading of ammunition onto vehicles, or other transportation modes for secure and efficient transportation to various locations.
Keep accurate records of ammunition stocks, including quantity, type, and expiration dates, and assist in inventory control to maintain sufficient supply levels.
Ensure that inventory data is up to date.
Distribute ammunition to authorized personnel, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to security procedures.
Follow strict safety protocols and guidelines to minimize the risk of accidents or incidents during ammunition handling operations.
Routinely inspects ammunition and components using appropriate ammunition surveillance procedures.
Adhere to security measures and protocols to prevent unauthorized access to ammunition storage areas and maintain the integrity of the inventory.
Assist in the proper disposal or demilitarization of expired or damaged ammunition following established procedures and safety guidelines.
Maintain a clean, secure, and safe work area.
Stay updated on safety procedures, regulations, and best practices related to ammunition handling.
Obtain necessary certifications or qualifications to perform the job safely and effectively.

MINIMUM &
Qualifications:
Ability to travel and spend up to 5 days a week each month at offsite locations.
Experience in Federal Law Enforcement Training Programs (preferred) Must be able to lift, move and walk with heavy items (50 lbs minimum).
Military service within the MOS of armor / armory custody is a plus.
Ability to pass a standard background check, drug screening, and possess a valid U.
S.
passport or driver's license.
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 12 months of specialized experience or training, handling ammunition, and the ability to learn how to destroy explosives and toxic materials.
Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
Must be a Citizen of the United States.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work typically performed in an armory, warehouse, or training area.
Ability to mentally and physically handle long-hours to meet operational requirements.
Typically, 8-hour days Monday - Friday.
During training and surge operations travel up to five days off-site to training venues.
